What is small group counseling?
Small group counseling is a focused small group of students who meet with me on a weekly basis to discuss either a specific topic, such as grief, or a more broad topic, such as emotions. These students work together to gain understandings of the topic and how it relates to them, the world, and whatever else they might need to. I guide the sessions to help students gain knowledge of the topic chosen to lead students to success. Small group counseling is also a great way for students to understand that though they may feel alone and that no one understands them, there are others going through similar things. It's also beneficial for students to hear other perspectives on their thinking.
