What is a trade/vocational school?

Trade school, sometimes referred to as vocational school, technical school, or career schools, are designed to give students skills to prepare them for a specific occupation. Trade school options offer several advantages such as faster completion times, fewer or no requirements to complete general education classes, smaller class sizes, lower cost, and highly specialized training. This option can be great for individuals who would like to advance their skills and education but are unsure if a traditional 4-year college is right for them. Trade programs are for those that want to get the necessary training to secure a job more quickly than a traditional college route.
